Members from Greenpeace, and a local NGO gathered in front of the Gandhi statue on M G Road and began a 'funeral march' to the State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) office situated in the Utilities Building. Led by Yama, the Hindu god of death, and his aides, all three in traditional costumes, the protestors traversed the M G Road carrying playcards and banners promoting environmental awareness. As the final act, Yama and his aides approached the SPCB officials and handed over a death certificate to the body, which has shown no signs of life for long.
